Holiday In Yogyakarta
I’m glad that finally can share my amazing experience in Yogyakarta hehe. I take flight from Pontianak Kalimantan with the ticket fare around Rp 1.931.600 which include a round-trip ticket with rarely a long trip with 1 transit 16 hours and 5 minutes using Sriwijaya plane.
Arrived in Yogyakarta Airport, I ordered online taxy to POP! Hotel Sangaji Yogyakarta with fare around Rp 40.000 only. The hotel that I stayed is quite cheap Rp 318.000 per night, After arrived and quick rest in hotel, I get some food with walking to Malioboro because the distance is close that take about 10 minutes for me to get there and searching for delicious Gudeg hehe, All of my friends told Gudeg Yu Djum is the best and I try it. The taste is surprisingly sweet like semur so I don’t like it. My opinion is different cause I prefer the salty food but it’s not bad for those who like sweet food, the price is Rp 20.000 only and the tasty orange juice is Rp 5.000 only, the service is very friendly, the location of Gudug Yu Djum is on Dagen Street No. 2C, Malioboro.
After I ate, I go to Tugu Pal Putih because that place have a lot of history for Yogyakarta and I didn’t forget to take pictures with the night lights too.
After satisfiying exploring this city, finally I came back to the hotel for shower and take a rest to preparing for tomorrow.
The second day, I awaked at 7 o’clock and getting ready for breakfast at this hotel which quite okay according to the price. For today’s destination, I’m going to all the temples in Yoyakarta. Prambanan Temple is approximately 17 kilometers to the east from city center of Yogyakarta. I used a trans bus for Rp 3.500 to this place. The entrance price as Irecall is Rp 40.000 for adult and Rp 20.000 for children because when I left there were mothers carrying their children so I remember the ticket price for children (eavesdropping) lol.
When I was here, it’s so hot so I recommend to bring umbrella or hat because there’s no place to take shelter.
The temples is so beautiful right? And the weather is so hot lol, near from Prambanan Temple, it rises up a little, there is another temple, Ratu Boko Temple I left again and it turns out that when you buy a ticket to Prambanan Temple, you can buy the ticket and later we will be taken using a rabbit train there with the same ticket price of IDR 40,000.
Ratu Boko Temple consists of the main gate, cremation, field, ponds, pavilion, paseban to cave that didn’t exist at Prambanan Temple.
After walking around in these two temples I decided to go back to the hotel and look for a meal around Malioboro Street which has so many food stalls and its so crowded until night. All the food here look so tasty.
I order some rice, satai, noodles orange juice and egg for quite a deal and all of that can make me full with good taste. The seller said the taste can be different depending on the price of the food.
The third day, today’s destination is Mangunan Fruit Farm because I’m a nature lovers so I choose to be here that 35 kilometers from city and more precisely about 15 kilometers from the Capital of Bantul Regency, the entrance ticket is Rp 5.000 only and along the road was plantes with various fruit like durian, mango, rambutan, guava, orange, sapodilla, duku and mangosteen follow the shape of the hill and after arrived in the peak of the scenery is amazingly beautiful, I can see the Parangtritis Beach, Bantul City and steep Oya River from here. This place open from 08.00-18-00, there have a lot of facilities such as Outbound, Flying Fox, Rocking Bridge etc.
Parangtritis Beach is the next destination. The beach that’s known to have story of Ratu Pantai Selatan or Nyi Roro Kidul, which is famous for its beauty and good, this tourist spot very much visited by local and foreign tourists. There are so many foreigners in here lol. The ticket to enter is cheap.
Beautiful and crowded right? Hahaha
The day seems to be evening, so I go back to hotel and looking for souvenirs before go back to Kalimantan tomorrow.
The most famous place of looking for souvenirs in Yogyakarta that I check on google indeed in Malioboro, and I don’t wanna waste my time anymore so I directly go to place near hotel. Before hunting for souvenirs, I must looking for something to fill this stomach lol. Lumpia Samijaya which not too far from Halte Trans Yogya – Malioboro 2, it containts vegetable, chicken or tastes jumbo and very tasty with green chili and pickles. The most tasty Lumpia with the lowest price.
After eat some Lumpia, I go to Es Dawet Campur. The best of Es Dawet Campur is around here that exacly the left side of the Lumpia Samijaya, the ice made from easily available ingredients such as coconut, melon, avocado, sapodilla, plus cendol, kolang kalong, green tape, cincau, selasih etc. The price is very cheap.
Not far away from I walked, I found another pecel that looks good and the name was Pecel Pincuk. That contains vegetables and tofu at a cheap price, which is really good with spices that fit on this tongue hehe.
Finally I’m going to my destination place with my stomach full. I want to buy batik for my souvenirs frome here so I visited Mirota Batik Shop. It’s located south from Malioboro on Ahmad Yani Street No.9, Gondomanan. Surprisingly this place is so crowded maybe because it’s located in a strategic place with a friendly price. With a low budget I can already buy a batik and they also have jamu with a really cheap price.
This is my short trip to Yogyakarta I can feel the tradition of daily life in java and the people here is very, very friendly, especially the traders. I actually don’t want to go home hahaha. Because the food here is cheaps and tasty when comparable to Kalimantan food it’s expensive. Goodbye Yogyakarta I will definitely return here.
